In this movie, John Connor (Jason Clarke), the leader of the human resistance against the machines, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), from being terminated by Skynet's cyborg assassins. However, when Reese arrives in the past, he discovers that the timeline has been altered. Sarah Connor is no longer the helpless target but a skilled fighter already aware of her fate, and she’s protected by an aging T-800 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), whom she affectionately calls "Pops."

The movie combines action-packed sequences with a complex plot involving alternate timelines, exploring the relationship between humans and machines. It serves as both a continuation and a soft reboot of the original franchise.
